i am shown here escaping from the house for the duration of one hour, taking a break to seek out foreign fashion mags, lest i go completely nuts from spending too much time indoors doing homework.

But you look terrific! You are one of the only people I know who can belt their coat and get away with it. You are a genius.

the thrift stores there are pretty awful. either completely useless and filled with crap no one wants, or expensive as heck. what gives? where does all the good stuff go over there?
too bad they don't have any resale type places where things are somewhat reasonable, like they do here in NYC (like beacon's closet or buffalo exchange, and the like).

Re: EEEEEEEEEEPPPPPPPPP!!!!!
oh yeah, i totally have! it's a great coat. i replaced the buttons on it. the belt that came with it was broken when it arrived (brittle buckle, i guess), so i just put on whatever belt i fancy at the time.thanks again!

Thrift On!
Okay, guys, you have to believe us on this one: It's still possible to find cool stuff thrifting in New York City. Seriously. Load up the clothes you can't fit into ever since your recent affair with brown sugar Pop Tarts, head for Botanica Bar's monthly second-hand swap, Thrift On!, and you just might nab some vintage clothing with not-too-noticeable pit stains on them. Botanica Bar, 47 East Houston St., (212) 343-7251. 9 p.m-1 am. Free.

Re: help me!
you are NOT bothering me, don't be silly!i know there are probably tons of sewing machine repair places in town, but i don't really know too much about most of them. i had my bernina fixed at a place up on e. 85th or something like that...i can't remember the name of the place. eeep! i'm so sorry.
